stomach groans out of delight

stony eyes see not

Strong and true words. The human race must save themselves from the greed and hate of the few.

I agree with the poem as much as I strongly disapprove of the image. Distastefully stereotypical

I am not sure I understand…. It was not in my mind. I myself am brown azd had no intention to stereotype any color. We are all jphumans and poverty, lets face it,us everywhere even among white people! Pardon me if I hurt you but it was not my intention to do any such thing my friend

It is alright, I can understand where you are coming from. It’s just that Africa has become the epitome of tragedy and the media keeps perpetuating such images. Because we truly are all just humans, but rarely are we shown abject white kids dying on the streets. It’s not your fault, but the image you used says a lot, especially for people who never think about the power a single image can have. I personally never feature images in my poetry for that reason. It somewhat obscures the reader’s idea of what the poem is about.

But the power of your poem still remains, please do not be disheartened by my words. You have great skills. :))

I was merely conveying more through the picture! And the leader whose wonderful words I posted at the bottom is brown too and so am I so ..
I hope you do not see it that way anymore… Poverty is around me too but I didnt have a shot of my nation’s poverty so for lack of it I used this one..And I am satirizing our greed not mocking their hunger!
        Peace and blessings my friend

  4. Thank you for sharing the true face of hunger. Your image is spot on – we all need to see the images of our reality.

  7. If we could all stop fighting over stupid things for a bit and focus on doing something constructive we could indeed lessen all these problems. Beautiful poem, and yes it hurts.

thank you for seeing that truth my friend! It is very distressing and so a trivial attempt to do the thought justice!. Appreciate the appraisal
